Sam Sokha

JSC development Manager

Story

1. When did you start to work with JSC?
I started working at JSC since January 2015. I’ve been working here for 1 year and 7 months. Before I had worked at Caritas Cambodia for 8 years. I was in charge of the financial department of Eye hospital in Takeo province. When I decided to move here, I felt a bit tired of paper works with numbers only. And I realized I was getting used to do it and feeling comfort with those financial works. I wanted to seek for a new experience and to learn something new. So I moved my workplace to JSC.

2. How is working at JSC different from before?
Actually, Here I have to be in front of computer also. Although, I can go and see many developing fields and cooperate with many people. There are more dynamics than before. I like to meet people and to learn about the activities what make people in this country developing. And I also want to be grown with those experiences.

3. What is your assignment in JSC now?
Here in JSC, my first task was started with reviewing and revising the existence of JSC policy. And I added many another necessary points what have been implementing but never been written to the documents. And also I prepare all the official forms and templates for using such as staff contract, leave form, work permission form… etc. I’m still trying to upgrade the policy based on current condition and situation in Cambodia. It is human resource development

Our People, Our Future.

Story

4. Why do you think that the personnel policy is important?
This job is helpful for our staffs. And every our staffs is important because they are the one who conduct our projects. Without the policy, the essential relationship between 3 parts of our project work – Employer, Employee and Administrative system cannot make balance. We are able to understand about our right and limitation with the policy. Nowadays I’m preparing for the policy of financial work. And I hope that our staffs to read our policy and give us some feedback. Then I can revise it. Because the recent version of our policy may not be perfect. Our staffs should communicate and talk about the policy which is their right and their rule.

5. What is the future of JSC that you expect?
I hope JSC to have a good, proper and standard policy in place to be followed. I believe it can be fulfilled step by step. And I hope our staffs to be joyful in their workplace and to participate actively in developing our society by helping the poor in our community. I hope they know that our job is making our people happy, making them to live a better life in better condition and also, raising future leaders of Cambodia by providing proper education. In last, I hope people to aware of the situation in this country. We should keep going forward.
