Librarian Workshop
On the 22-23 of September, 22 librarians of Phnom Penh office of JSC(It covers Kandal, Kampong Speu, Kampong Chnang Provinces) gathered to JS Phnom Penh Office for the librarian workshop.
They are all librarians from different local villages. They run JS village-libraries in their houses or near their houses. Actually, most of them were the beneficiaries of our social development service(housing, toilet, medical…). Many of our librarians were vulnerable and non-educated. But now they love their job as a librarian and passionate to the children in their villages. Therefore, they need to be educated for the skills to manage their libraries.
We organized the program of workshop with ‘Sipar’, the NGO is specialized for publication. On 22nd of September, The librarians visited the mobile libraries of Sipar in village and watched their activities. The next day, they attended a lecture about how to organize library, how to read and explain books for children and how to manage the library and books. All librarians participated the programs very passionately.
